When enough just isn't enough....

Updated: May 20, 2022

Sometimes you feel like you have done EVERYTHING you possibly could but your mood, your fatigue and your lack of motivation just hasn't shifted - NOT EVEN A LITTLE BIT ! No matter how much you workout, no matter how well you're eating you are constantly feeling BLEH. It could all come down to a lack of something extremely important in your diet - Vitamins....

So, let’s put this out on the table first. The best way to ensure you are getting the appropriate amount of vitamins and minerals (micronutrients) in your daily diet is by eating real food in real quantities and looking after your own best health. But sometimes that is not enough due to poor soils, foods being picked too early or frozen for extended periods of time, we often get ‘busy’ and heavily rely on the same mixture of fruits and veg every day which then in-tern means we are missing the full spectrum we require plus, we can’t always account for how our body chooses to absorb the foods we eat.

Today we are talking about when eating all the right foods is not enough.

Everyone knows that the human body needs a certain number of vitamins and minerals every day to function properly and remain healthy. A well-balanced diet can supply your body with the vitamins it needs, although problems and disorders can arise if your diet doesn’t supply your body with the vitamins that are needed. The symptoms of vitamin deficiency will normally present themselves when the lack of vitamins is at an advanced level.

Those who don’t get enough of vitamins A, D, Iron, Magnesium, B1, and B2 for example, will always feel tired, along with potential loss of appetite. Other symptoms include mental and emotional stress, chapped lips, and other annoying or painful symptoms.

The most common causes of deficiency include a poor diet, alcoholism, stress, a lack of vitamins in the food being eaten, or medicine that interferes with your absorption of said vitamins. If you are always feeling tired or feeling a lack of energy, you are probably short on the vitamins that your body needs to have on a daily basis to work optimally. For instance; did you know that magnesium is used for over 300 things in the human body!?

Even though you may be following a healthy diet, you may still need to take a vitamin supplement. No matter how healthy you eat, you should still use the right vitamins and supplements to give your body the extra it needs. Vitamins are a great back up source, as they will provide your body with the nutrients required.

When you look for supplements, you should always get the help of a professional and look for those that contain high dose vitamins and mineral, otherwise you just have poor quality and expensive pee.

Keep in mind that you should never replace food with vitamins. The word ‘supplement’ comes from the fact that they are there to supplement a great diet.

Disease in the body come from two places; toxicity and deficiency. So, ensuring you give your body the best chance possible with good quality vitamins and mineral may be a direction you want to take.
